It’s Raining and Snowing in Los Angeles
Although Monday’s clouds didn’t bring as much rain as originally forecast, it was enough to severely disrupt traffic which of course, caused delays and plenty of accidents.
Surprisingly, Mount Wilson had snow, as the LAist’s showed a beautiful shot of its snow-ridden Observatory. Historic Mount Wilson Observatory is an astronomical research facility located in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California. Located on the summit of Mount Wilson above Pasadena at an altitude of 5715 feet (1742 meters), the observatory is visible from much of the Los Angeles area. So enjoy the sun over the next couple of days before the next rain storm sets in.
Hopefully, the rain will help fill our area’s Reservoirs’ and Aquifers, to help alleviate our Water Drought. This latest bout of rain, and change of weather, brought us a beautiful sunset, as the dramatic images presented below show:
Travelin’ Local here does have Mother Nature’s hazards; but there’s no place in the world that’s immune.
But overall, we still like to call our place in the sun here, a slice of paradise.

Hi Lisa!
Love what you have done with the site. Really like the shots. Great color and good use of BW! Really like the simple template you are using now.

BTW, I received the book. I’ve just skimmed it so far, but it’s got a lot of great info. I’m looking forward to trying many of the suggestions out. Thanks for running the contest!!
