@eddie, The pools there are amazing. I didn’t swim the day I was there, but a friend of mine swims there and loves it.

I've spent many a summer day in the pool - amazing two Olympics were held there. They reserve the uncrowded lap pool for exercise but the beach-like kids' pool (a small water park really) is always packed. @Patricia I was surprised it wasn’t more crowded. Oh, it is crowded if there’s a special program going on, but otherwise, not as many people as you might think.

@Jannie Funster I love a good garden, too. Small plants, large plants, fruit, vegetable, or flower, it doesn’t matter………..:)

@Jannie Funster Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to tour the amphitheatre because no events were going on the day I was there, so the gates were locked. Hopefully in the near future I’ll be able to go back when the gates are open.

@Diane C. The Rose Garden is beautiful. I plan on putting that blog post up on Sunday.

@David I haven’t been to the Pasadena Aquatorium, but this pool was a definite winner. There is more construction going on, so I’m sure I’ll be going to back see what else pops up.

@Caroline I have no doubt that you’ll enjoy your visit…………:)

@Carla Small places can be fun, too. It’s all in what’s available and what’s not. I’m sure the Bay area has loads of things to do.

Amazing place and kudos on your outstanding news coverage of the local area.

I actually did not know that this place was redone and open to the public.

This pool, no doubt, is the best in the city. I think the only one comparable may be the Pasadena Aquatorium, because they have diving platforms but I do not think that they have as much swim area, and lane moveability as the Roy A. Anderson Recreation Center.

I was also fascinated by the entire Expo Center.

Again I didn’t know what the city had accomplished. I look forward to many a day spending there to be sure.

Thanks for your gallant efforts in bringing the news that matters here in Southern California.
