Twitter and the Lonely Shoe Story
At the end of my bike ride on Ballona Creek, I reached the beach at Playa del Rey. On the beach was a lonely shoe, which upon further reflection, created many questions for me including:
Where did the shoe come from? How did it end up on the beach? Who owned the shoe? Does the tanker and ship in the background have any relationship to the lost shoe? Does this picture create the story behind this shoe? Where’s the other shoe?

I once found a Timex watch while walking along the water’s edge in Venice Beach. It was 3/4’s buried in the sand and the cloth strap was worn down by the wave buffing it back and forth in the sand…… Only God knows where it came from and how long it was in the ocean…. AND, IT WAS STILL TICKING !!! The battery finally gave out after being on my possession for 3 years…….. It reminds me of the Timex commercials in the 60’s and 70’s by John Cameron Swayze…”It’s takes a licking and keeps on ticking”………

Ha! I always wonder where these items came from. You see them on the beach, in the street, at the park. Shoes, hats, and a variety of other personal items. It’s perplexing if you ask me.

@ Frank I remember those commercials. I bought a couple of Timex and usually had good luck with them. However, I haven’t found any at the beach lately. I’ll keep looking, though.
@ Melissa Once, along the sidewalk, I came across a cast. You know, the removable kind. I thought, did the person’s leg suddenly get better so they could just discard it? I totally agree, it’s perplexing.
